Welcome to My Blog

Howdy Folks,

Thanks for visiting my new blog. I'm still getting things set up, so pardon the disarray and overall lack of content. I'll try to write something more substantial once I get a better feel for how I want to use this space. But for now, a question to get things rolling, and to test to see if anyone is actually reading this:

What do you think the title of my blog is supposed to mean?

The best (or funniest) answer (to be judged solely by me in an arbitrary and capricious manner) wins a prize (to be determined later).

Justin

Well Justin. That is an interesting question and I have some ideas.

First of all, I looked up the word quixotic in the dictionary and I think it is a very cool word: This is the definition I found:Caught up in the romance of noble deeds and the pursuit of unreachable goals; idealistic without regard to practicality.
Capricious; impulsive.

I think that, based on this definition, you could define your blogs title as a statemennt on how you live life and then what you portray to your audience. So you are on a pursuit of living life in an idealistic and striving for noble goals fashion and your blog will represent the musings (or published thoughts) of a particular person on that journey referred to as a pilgrim. On the word pilgrim I think of the idea of embarking on a quest for what one sees as sacred so you are the specific person on this quest in life for what you see is sacred. Or maybe it means that your blog will be the romancy idealistic place and you will be the pilgrim musing about it.

Anyways, I hate the english language and I am done tryin got get what is in my head out in a coherent fashion. :)

If I may be so bold...
--Quest definitely implies some sort of purposeful journey; a mission, if you will.
--Quixotic (etymologically stemming from Quixote, if I'm not mistaken) would imply a greater similarity to that same story/journey, mostly in idealism.
--Musings gives an air of brief thoughts: nothing explained in profound depth, but pertaining to certain ideas, such that wrestling with them could be a life-long pursuit.
--Fellow (as you use it) seems to mean simply "with." In reading through the greetings in Paul's epistles, he uses the word "fellow" quite frequently; the word "fellow" we read comes from the greek prefix "su" on all such descriptors (fellow workers, fellow laborers), something like our prefix "co" (colaborers, coworkers). It;s in reference to others with whom a specific characteristic is shared.
--Pilgrim as already pointed out might be referring (in some sense whether great or small) to the Pilgrim's Progress. Taking a step away from that book, a pilgrim would simply be a person making a pilgrimmage--a person, most likely a foreigner, on a journey to a holy place.

So if I can shut my mouth, er, fingers, for a second, my answer would be that the title of your blog means that this site contains some thoughts that may or may not pertain to, but have come upon you as you make this idealistic journey on which you are not alone, hence the sharing of such thoughts with those readers of your blog.

Whew.

Thanks to those of you that have been courageous enough to put foreward theories as to the meaning behind the title of my blog. I see some interesting stuff, some of which is even on the right track. I will comment on them more extensively in the near future, but I refrain for the moment, as I don't want to unduly influence those that have not yet posted, and want to be considered for the contest.
I'll give folks another week or so to post, and then the full truth will be unveiled...
